A reverse phase high pressure liquidchromatographic method (HPLC) has beendescribed for the estimation of MontelukastSodium in its pharmaceutical formulations usingan inertsil ODS C-18, 5 ?m column having 250×4.6mm I.D. in gradient mode, with mobile phase A,containing 0.02 M sodium phosphate buffer:methanol (85:15) and mobile phase B, containingacetonitrile: methanol (85:15), at different timeintervals. The flow rate was 1.0 ml/min andeffluent was monitored at 218 nm and the linearitywas found to be in the range of 0.1 to 10 ìg/ml.The method is simple, precise, specific, less timeconsuming and accurate for the estimation ofmontelukast Sodium in Pharmaceutical dosageforms.
