AbstractA protocol was developed for in vitropropagation by multiple shoot induction ofCrataeva religiosa Hook. f. & Thoms, a medicinaltree having high medicinal values belongingto the family Capparidaceae. High frequenciesof multiple shoot regeneration were achievedfrom apical bud on MS medium fortified with 8mg/L BAP alone. Five to seven shoots per explantwere obtained. The elongated shoots weresubcultured for rooting on half strength MS supplementedwith various concentrations of IBAand IAA. The in vitro raised plantlets were acclimatizedin green house and successfully transplantedto natural condition with 72% survival.
