The PCR optimization for FXI gene Exon 12 was found to be consistent and specific. PCR analysis of FXI gene Exon 12 revealed single band of 244 bp in all the KF cattle studied. No polymorphism was detected at FXI gene exon 12 of Karan Fries cattle. One non synonymous nucleotide change from G to A at position 105 in Karan Fries was observed when compared with Bos taurus resulting into a change of amino acid in second codon from Arginine (R) in Bos Taurus to Glutamine (Q) in Karan fries. The studyrevealed that the screened Karan Fries cattle were free from Factor XI gene deficiency. As there was no polymorphism at FXI gene exon 12 of Karan Fries cattle, it was not feasible to explore association with repeat breeding.
